Name[edit]

Platycephalus angustus Steindachner, 1866

Type locality: Suriname? (considered erroneous, and the holotype appears to have been lost, a neotype is designated with a type locality northeast of Darbilla Creek, Millingimbi, Northern Territory, Australia, 12°09'S, 134°56'E [1], 0–2 m depth).

Etymology: The specific epithet angustus is a Latin word and means narrow, steep or close.
