- Lectotype: MBL, collected by J.A. d’Anchieta in 1864. [designated by Bocage (1882: 10), destroyed by fire 18 March 1978]
- Type locality: “Molembo, Afrique occidentale”, emended to “Molembo de la Côte de Loango au nord du Zaire” by Bocage (1882: 10).
