- Syntypes (n=2): MBL, collected by J.A. d’Anchieta in 1867 [Capangombe] and a juvenile, collected by J. Horta in 1873 [Angola]. [destroyed by fire 18 March 1978]
- Type locality: “Capangombe (Angola)” and “Angola”, restricted to “Capangombe, Angola” by Loveridge (1951: 9).
