- Diagnosis: Thallus foliosus, soreditis isidiisque destitutus; subtus albus vel pallido-brunnescens; ascosporae 19-28 x 7-10 µm.
- Type: MEXICO. Sonora: 27 km ENE of Ures (Km-post 91) N-facing slope; 29o31'N, 110o09'W, 620 m, on tree trunk, Moberg 10,233 (UPS-holotype).
- Substrate and ecology: (Sonoran region) On bark or rock.
- World distribution: North America
- Etymology: named after the Sonoran Region of SW North America.
