  • Typus: W. Roxburgh s.n. (lectotypus: LINN [Herb. Smith 191.2(JSTOR)], designated by Turner 2013: 158).
    • Note: until this lectotypification, several authors (e.g. Chantaranothai 2021) have regarded Roxburgh's drawing in Wight, Icon. Pl. Ind. Orient., t. 186 (1840) as type.
  • Type locality: "India".

Some authors have recognized its occurrence also in Singapore, but K.M. Wong in Wong et al. (2019: 230, 232) regards them as misidentifications of Pavetta wallichiana Steud. ex Craib.
