Paraschistura hormuzensis Freyhof et al., 2015

Type locality: Iran: Hormuzgan prov.: Rudan River at Abnama bridge, a tributary of Minab River, 27°28'24" N 57°15'14" E.

Etymology: The species is named for the Strait of Hormuz, a strait between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
