- Type locality: Australia, Queensland, Great Barrier Reef, Raine Island, shallow rocks off tower. 11°35.5′S, 144°2.3′E. Depth 1-2 m.
- Holotype: NMV F112641.
- Etymology: named after Cynthia Ahearn.
