Holotype: ANSP 5395, collected by T.J. Paige.

Type locality: not cited, designated to “Vermejo River, Argentine Chaco” by Schmidt (1936: 199), corrected to “Río Bermejo, Chaco, Argentina” by Scrocchi (1990: 359).
