Melanochyla densiflora King, J. Asiat. Soc. Bengal, Pt. 2, Nat. Hist. 65(3): 503 (1896)

• Note: accepted by Hou (1978) and Beaman et al. (2001) while placed under M. tomentosa Hook.f. by Kochummen (1989). Accepted by POWO (2024) and others, therefore should have its own taxon page and place in the species list. Not really disputed.
