Name[edit]

Lophuromys angolensis Verheyen, Dierckx & Hulselmans, 2000

Type locality: Mbwambala (05.03 S; 18.55 E) at an altitude of 500 m. (collecting nr 1110; trap. stat. nrI7). Dem. Rep. Congo.
Holotype: KMMA 97-021-M-l; adult female; spirit specimen; skull complete; collected by H. LEIRS (05 july 1995).
Paratypes: 45 specimens (28 adult males; 17 adult Jemales); all collected in the vicinity of Kikwit but at different localities.
