- Holotype locality: Golfo de Ancud, Isla Grande de Chiloé, Chile.
- Holotype: G.W. Saunders; 14 December 1998; 6 m depth. UNB GWS 000503. (Holotype: herbarium sheet with 4 specimens: 2 cystocarpic, 1 tetrasporic and 1 sterile)
