      • Type: G. H. Unwin 45, 30 July 1907 (lectotype, K-K000986851; isolectotype: K-K000986850); designated by Bouka Dipelet & al. (2017: 20).
      • Type locality: Southern NIGERIA. Aboh Forest.


Khaya ivorensis var. quadrifida, nom. nud. is based on the specimen A. Chevalier 16237 (CÔTE D'IVOIRE. Alépé, from 26–28 February to 1–3 March, 1907; P-MNHN-P00453288), which had been cited as Khaya klainei in Pellegrin (1911:77).
