• Note: accepted by Mendoza et al. (2004) and Taylor (2017), but regarded as conspecific with I. sparsifolia K.Krause by Vásquez Martínez et al. (2008) or Ixora panurensis Müll.Arg., Flora 58: 454 (1875) by Govaerts et al. (2023). If this conspecificity holds then Ixora panurensis has priority under ICN.
• Typus: E.H.G. Ule 7710 (in flower, November 1908; Holotypus: B [monochrome photocopy: F0BN000421^{(GBIF1, GBIF2, JSTOR)}]; Lectotypus: MG [​MG012817^{(GBIF1, GBIF2)}, determined by P.G. Delprete in 2013]; ⧼Isolectotypi⧽: F [​V0069616F^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}], L 0058067^(JSTOR); cf. K [​K000424576^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}, without type indication]).
• Type locality: Brasilien [= BRAZIL]. [Roraima:] Im Gebiet des Rio Branco auf der Serra de Carauma.

Notes

Mendoza et al. (2004) and Delprete & Cortés-B. (2015) claim that this species occurs in Colombia, citing J.C. Betancur B. et al. 2868 (collected in Vaupés, alt. 150 m, 2 October 1991; deposited in MO-1545946 (4231147)^(GBIF); also in COL [​COL000050449 (351012)]), which was re-determined with I. panurensis Müll.Arg. by C.M. Taylor in 2016.
