Note: Hesperis kotschyana Fenzl, Pug. Pl. Nov. Syr. 13. (1842) and H. kotschyi Boiss., Diagn. Pl. Orient. ser. 2, 5: 21. (1856) are legitimate names. Boissier (1867) mistook Fenzl’s 1842 epithet kotschyana as kotschyi, considered his H. kotschyi (dt. 1856) as a later homonym, and renamed it as H. humilis.
