  • Deutsch: Mandelbaum. A B blühender und fruchtender Zweig, natürl. Grösse; 1 und 1a Blüthen von verschiedenen Bäumen, vergrössert (1a aus dem botanischen Garten in Jena); 2, 2a Kronblätter, natürl. Grösse; 3 Staubgefässe, desgl.; 4 Pollen, desgl.; 5 Stempel, desgl.; 6, 7 Fruchtknoten im Längs- und Querschnitt, desgl.; 8 Steinkern, desgl.; 9 derselbe im Längsschnitt, desgl.; 10 Mandel ohne Steinschale, desgl.; 11, 12 Same im Längs- und Querschnitt, desgl. Die abgebildete Mandel ist irrtümlicherweise als var. amara bezeichnet; es muss heissen var. dulces.

The almond shown is mistakenly referred to as var. amara; it must be called var. dulces.
