Deutsch: Arbeiterin der Gemeinen Wespe (Vespula vulgaris) beim Einflug in ein Erdloch, dass in zu einem unterirdischen Wespennest führt, fotografiert im August 2004.

  • Beschreibung: Das Foto entstand in Eckernförde im Garten meiner Eltern. Dort befand sich ein unterirdisches Wespennest. Vor diesem habe ich mich mit meiner Kamera auf Stativ postiert, auf den Rand des Erdloches fokussiert, zur Mitte des Erdloches herübergeschwenkt und dann mit dem Finger auf dem Auslöser auf einfliegende Wespen gewartet. Da ich die Tiere im Flug fotografieren wollte, musste ich für ein Foto mit akzeptabler Schärfe eine sehr schnelle Verschlusszeit wählen. Um genug Licht dafür zu haben, habe ich die Sonne mittels eines großen Spiegels in das Erdloch projiziert. Dadurch konnte ich die Aufnahmen mit einer Verschlusszeit von einer 1/640 Sekunde machen. Damit ist die Bewegungsunschärfe auf den Flügeln der Wespen reduziert. Allerdings mussten sich die Tiere zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme genau in der vorher fokussierten Ebene befinden. So habe ich also einige hundert Fotos gemacht, auf denen entweder nur das leere Erdloch zu sehen war oder Wespen die unscharf waren, weil sie entweder zu nah oder zu weit weg von der Kamera waren. Aber Dank der Fotoserienfunktion sind einige wenige Fotos entstanden, bei denen mindestens ein Tier sich im richtigen Abstand zur Kamera befand. Das aus meiner Sicht beste Foto von einem fliegenden Einzeltier seht ihr hier. Die Wespe befindet sich im Landeanflug. Auf dem ursprünglichen Bildausschnitt befand sich noch ein Teil des Erdlochrandes. Diesen habe ich wegretouchiert, damit das Tier für sich wirkt und keine ablenkenden Elemente im Bild enthalten sind. An meiner Anwesenheit haben sich die Tiere nicht gestört. Ich wurde nicht gestochen, obwohl ich mit meinem Spiegel und meiner Kamera mitten in der Einflugstrecke der Wespen hockte. Sich ruhig zu verhalten und keine hektischen Bewegungen zu machen, war offenbar sinnvoll
