of first dorsal opposite de-pressed pectoral and ventral tips, of five spines. Second dorsal originmidway between depressed pectoral tip and anal origin, which lastlittle nearer gill opening than caudal base. Caudal small. Pairedfins small, with ventral little larger than pectoral. Several dark linesradiate down and back from eye. Related to Kraemeria Steindachner but differing chiefly in itsgreatly longer trunk which is but little shorter than the tail, longerpectoral, and more variegated coloration. (Gobius + Trichinotus.) GOBITRICHINOTUS RADIOCULARIS, new speciesFlGUKE 22 Depth 12V£; head 414, width 2%. Snout 4% in head measured fromsnout tip; eye 4% in snout, slightly greater than interorbital, smalland superior; maxillary oblique, extends down and little beyond eye,length 3% in head measured from snout tip; teeth minute, conic,simple, apparently uniserial in jaws; tongue with slender mediannotch in front; interorbital level. Gill opening extends forward notquite halfway in head.

V—18, height of either fin less than greatest body depth and lastray like last anal ray connected with caudal peduncle by low mem-brane ; A. I, 13, last ray opposite last dorsal ray; least depth of caudal NEW PHILIPPINE FISHES—FOWLER 87 peduncle 4% in total head length; pectoral 3, rays 9; ventral I, 5, finsjoined, length 2% in total head length. Color in alcohol brown, limit of each myomere slightly darkened.On top of head dark bar down from eye to hind part of maxillary, andtwo others radiate back from hind part of each eye, expanding back-ward. Uppermost of each band in hind part of its expansion withtwo pale or whitish spots, one above the other and below and beforemedian large pale occipital blotch.
