- Holotype: UTA A-24637, adult ♀, collected by J.A. Campbell and E.D. Brodie on 8 December 1986.
- Type locality: “21.1 km (by road) NNE Barillas, Finca Chiblac, Departamento de Huehuetenango, Guatemala, ... 1080 m elevation on the northern slope of the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes at approximately 15°53′N, 91°16′W”.
