Enneapterygius phoenicosoma Motomura et al., 2015

  • Holotype: KAUM I. 21960.
  • Paratypes: (70).

Type locality: off Nagasaki-bana, Kushikino-kose, Ichiki-kushikino, Kagoshima, Japan, 31°42'24"N, 130°15'44"E, 0.5–1 m depth..

Etymology: From the Greek phoenico meaning red and soma (= body), in reference to the red body of nuptial males.
