[edit]- "Several specimens of various parts of the body with wings were found by Mr. F. O. Bowditch (after whom the species is named)" (Scudder, 1878)
- "Named for my friend and fellow collector of Green River fossils, Mr. Frederick C. Bowditch, of Boston." (Scudder, 1890)
