  • Holotype: USNM 75894, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by Edward Alphonso Goldman and Edward William Nelson on 4 October 1895.
  • Type locality: “San Cristobal [= San Cristóbal de las Casas], altitude 9500 feet [= 2896 m], State of Chiapas, Mexico”.
