Name
[edit]- Pionia Walker, 1854: 255
Type species
[edit]Euchromia lycoides Walker, 1854: 256, by monotypy.
Synonyms
[edit]- Correbia Herrich-Schäffer, [1855]: 22, 74
- Type species: Correbia ceramboides Herrich-Schäffer, [1855], wrapper to pl.49 fig.265 [1]]
- Notes:
- Hampson, 1898: 514 considered Pionia as synonym junior of Correbia, taking 1853 as the date for description of Correbia, whereas this date is now established as [1855]. Therefore, Correbia becomes junior synonym of Pionia.
- Watson, Fletcher & Nye, 1980: 44 BHL clearly state that Correbia ceramboides Herrich-Schäffer [1855] (type species of genus Correbia) is a junior subjective synonym of Euchromia lycoides Walker, 1854 (Type species of genus Pionia)
- Campos, 1931: 24, Grados, 1999: 13, Cock & Laguerre, 2023:27 used Pionia as valid name.
