- Holotype: UWZM 23720 (field no. JF 0134), adult ♂, collected by Johannes Foufopoulos on 4 April 1999.
- Type locality: “at 1503 m on a ridge between the Ivule and Sigole rivers on the northern edge of the Nakanai Plateau (05°33.112′ S, 151°04.269′ E), northern Nakanai Mountains, West New Britain Province, Papua New Guinea”.
