- Typus: A. Cunningham (1833; BM fide Oliver 1935: 66, K(-K000442391, under the number 472, collected in 1838, determined by A.P. Druce of WELT in 14 December 1978)).
- Note: BR also houses a type of this taxon (BR0000005576470, under the number 20).
- Type locality: New Zealand. Northern Island: W[h]angaroa, in shaded woods.
