Name[edit]

Centromochlus (Ferrarissoaresia) Grant, 2015

Etymology: Ferrarissoaresia is derived from part of the names Carl Ferraris Jr. and Luisa Maria Sarmento-Soares. The name has been given to recognise Dr. Ferraris' and Dr. Sarmento-Soares' contributions to the morphology and taxonomy of Centromochlinae from which this paper heavily depends, notwithstanding the fact that the author disagrees on some of the conclusions at supraspecies level.
