Carl Peter Thunberg
Carl Peter Thunberg (1743–1828) was a Swedish botanist. He has been called "the father of South African botany" and the "Japanese Linnaeus".
The standard author abbreviation Thunb. is used to indicate him as the author when citing a botanical name.
