Brachytydeus (Pertydeus) (André & Naudo, 1965)

• Original status: subgenus
• Gender: masculine
• Type species: Tydeus (Pertydeus) schusteri by original designation

Notes

• Pertydeus was erected by André & Naudo (1965) as subgenus of Tydeus. The subgenus accommodated two species: Tydeus schusteri and Tydeus tridactylus.
• The subgenus was used but disputed by Baker (1970: 164).
• The subgenus was not treated by subsequent authors: André (1980), Kaźmierski (1998) and Silva et al. (2016) and no formal synonymy was proposed.
• The component species were assigned to the genus Brachytydeus by Silva et al. (2016) (except recidivus not listed).
• Re-established in its pristine state and restored as a subgenus of Tydeus by André (2025: 163).
• Contrarily to the statement of André (2025: 156), the leg chaetotaxy is given in the description (André & Naudo, 1965: 679).
• Assigned to the genus Brachytydeus by André (2026: 418, 425).
