• Holotype: CASIZ 192771, collected by ROV ‘Doc Ricketts’ from MBARI cruise on 19 May 2013.
• Type locality: “northwest of La Jolla, California, USA; latitude: 32.90433, longitude: -117.78224, depth 1020 m”.
