Name[edit]

Apantesis nais (Drury, 1773); Illust. nat. Hist. exot. Insects 2: index to vol. 1; 1770, ibidem 1: 15–16, t. 7, fig. 3 (Phalaena Noctua nais).

Type locality: “New York … Nouvelle York”.
