Type species: Ankyropetalum gypsophiloides Fenzl Bot. Zeitung (Berlin) 1: 393 (1843)

Note: Madhani et al. (2018) proposed subsuming this genus into Gypsophila with four resurrected combinations. This is accepted by Govaerts et al. (2025), but by not Hassler (2025) for three combinations. WS must assume a conservative position and the differing opinions appear on the species pages.
