- Holotype: MVZ 173044, adult ♀, skin, skull and tissues, collected by James Lloyd Patton on 7 August 1986.
- Type locality: “22 km N La Oroya (by road), Depto. Junín, Peru, 4040 m (at the junction of roads to Junín [Hwy 31] and Tarma [Hwy 201]”.
