  • Etymology: "beaked", referring to the unusual shape of the cypselas (Swenson, 1996:50).
  • Type locality: "Homer", Fiordland, South island, New Zealand
  • Holotype: Fletcher s.n. (CHR 108668; isotypes AK, K, MEL, UPS)
