Yakov Avadievich Birstein

Yakov (or Jakov) Avadievich Birstein (Яков Авадьевич Бирштейн), Russian (Soviet) carcinologist and biogeographist. Birstein worked with aquatic crustaceans and developed general problems of genesis and evolution of deep-sea, freshwater and cave faunas.
