Vulpes velox (Say, 1823)
Type locality: "camp on the river Platte, at the fording place of the Pawnee Indians, twenty-seven miles [43 km] below the confluence of the North and South, or Paduca Forks." [Camp on 20 June 1820 reported to be at 40.59'15'N (vol. 2)].
