So on the subgenus page I need to write B. (C.) rohweri –? And does each species need to have its article named with the subgenus in the title, or is the binomial sufficient? Suicidalhamster 21:10, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bombus 2[edit]

You have to wright: Genus: Bombus Subgenus: [[Bombus (Cullumanobombus) and then B. (C.) rohweri –

After this you wright: Genus: Bombus Subgenus: Bombus (Cullumanobombus) and then Bombus (Cullumanobombus) rohweri and under == Name == Bombus (Cucullumanobombus) rohweri

This is for every species and Subgenera.

If you answer me please do it on my user talk.

Bombus 3[edit]

That is the correct formatting.

sgsp or sgssp[edit]

In the first place you are doing great work. In the second place you are wright about using of templates. I do now upgrades and I see a lot of mistakes. Most people who has done this don't work anymore in Wikipedia so I have to do this on my own. Therefore I ask you to see what is wrong in your Catagory. What is your speciality? My speciality are Lepidoptera.

Opinion[edit]

My opinion is that we have to follow the templates and Help instructions. If everyone do it on his ownway it is a chaos. If you see the reference section on the help you see that you have to wright == References ==. a lot of people use == Reference ==. I think we all have to follow the templates and Help sections. My colleages and I try to inform new people to work with the templates and Help sections.

Hymenoptera[edit]

If you want to do the hymenoptera that will be great. I advice you to look in Google and surf to Zootaxa hymenoptera. You see a lot of new species. If you want to do this than I can help you further in accordance with the Templates and Help sections.

Hymenoptera 2[edit]

If you have the original text you see that the species names are Bombus (Cucullumanobombus) rohweri and not Bombus rohweri. I'm a member of NEV (Nederlandse Etmologische Vereniging) and I borrow from them a lot of books for fill Wikipedia. Allso the new bulletins write Bombus (Cucullumanobombus) rohweri. This is the science way of writing.

Please improve your edits[edit]

Hello Hamster,

I'm very pleased to see your contributions here, but there's a couple or so of issues you should address:

  1. When you move a species from one name to another, the old name remains orphaned, so you have now two pages lurking around: for example Bombus lemniscatus and also Bombus (Pyrobombus) lemniscatus so you have to either mark one of them for delete by an administrator, or to redirect one of them.
  2. If you create a subgenus, then you have to change all the species under it using the template {{sgsp|G|enus|S|ubgenus|species}} . For example for Bombus (Pyrobombus) you failed to do this.
  3. You didn't change the moved species to reflect their new designation. For example for Bombus (Pyrobombus) lemniscatus you have to change Species: Bombus lemniscatus to Species: Bombus (Pyrobombus) lemniscatus.
  4. If you are not sure about how to handle subgenera, please don't proceed with them, because the repair of these pages will be very time-consuming.

Bombus affinis[edit]

The Subgenus is Bombus. The whole name is Bombus (Bombus) affinis.

Some answers[edit]

Hamster,

  1. Moving a page doesn't create automatically a redirect, for this you have to replece the older page's text with #REDIRECT [[Page_name]]
  2. The pages Bombus (Kallobombus) and Bombus (Kallobombus) soroeensis are OK.
  3. The name Bombus (Bombus sensu stricto) must be replaced with Bombus (Bombus), and the page Bombus (Bombus sensu stricto) marked for deletion (by the template {{detete}}).
  4. Thanks for your efforts !
