[edit] PRE tag or #
I noticed your user page has some nice long lists of ideas/issues. To have the numbering appear as you see it when you're editing it put a <pre> and </pre> tag around everything or use # at the start of each line instead of hard-coded numbers. --Georgeryp 01:20, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. Hash sign works great. Moved most of that stuff to a slightly more private page until I rewrite it in a more articulate manner. Any idea why I can't get "Category:External Link Templates" to show up on my page (it's supposed to be in my Useful Links section). Generally speaking should I post a followup like this on my page, or on your page?AndrewT 06:32, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

- Put a colon right before "Category", like this [[:Category:External Link Templates]] to get the link, so it doesn't include the page itself in the category (with the corresponding link it puts at the bottom of the page). I *guess* the default convention for talk page responses is to put replies on the user's talk page instead of your own (so they get the automated notification that someone modified their talkpage) but I prefer keeping the entire thread of the conversation on one page (I've mimicked others that prefer this way and put a note at the top of my talk page to that effect). --Georgeryp 04:42, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
