I am a retired Research Biologist (B.S. UIUC '65, M.S. UIUC '67 in Microbiology). I have been growing begonias - and only begonias - for about 30 years. I prefer to grow species. I grow them from seed so I can observe them from the beginning. Seedlings often grow into differently structured plants than begonias propagated vegetatively. I also like to confirm the labelling of the seeds I obtain. This entails reading the literature and observing minutia. But you, my reader, probably know all about that process. So that brings me to what I am doing here. An online friend referred me to Wikispecies and of course the first page I looked at was "Begonia". I see some corrections to be made...
