Usage[edit]
Use this to notify an editor of a discussion, via Special:Notifications. Simply insert {{Ping|USERNAME}} into a talk page or other non-article space to alert someone else.
For instance, if the user name of the editor you wish to alert is "Example", then you enter {{Ping|Example}} which renders as @Example: the user will then automatically get a notification about your message.
Using pipes you can notify up to seven users at the same time: {{Ping|USERNAME1|USERNAME2|USERNAME3|etc…}}
The need will probably very seldom arise, but if you want to ping more than seven users you will have to add a second ping template after the first one: {{Ping|USERNAME8|USERNAME9|USERNAME10|etc…}} That second ping template is of course also limited to a maximum of seven user names.
