Solanum retroflexum var. angustifolium Dunal (1852:50)
- Dunal did not annotate material for the typical variety other than a Saudi Arabia specimen (P.E. Botta s.n., P00055172) that represent S. villosum
  and was excluded when making the designation by Särkinen et al. (2018). The result is homotypy between these two names.
