Ignurbia B.Nord. (2003:47)
- Etymology: extracted from the generic Senecio, short "to compensate for the long and cumbersome specific epithet",, and "also the name of the innermost moon of the large planet Jupiter, which is surrounded by numerous satellites, like the large genus Senecio is surrounded by numerous small satellite genera" (Nordenstam, 2003:49).
- Type species: Io ambondrombeensis (Humbert) B.Nord., 2003.
- Type fixation: By monotypy and original designation (Nordenstam, 2003:48).
