Palmer lupine, Lupinus argenteus var. palmeri, California, White Mountains, Black Mountain, Owens Valley drainage, elevation 2350 m (7710 ft).
This variant of silver lupine is characterized by dense spreading hairs on the stems, and reaches its northwestern geographic limit here at the south end of the White Mountains. It is more common to the south and east across southern Nevada, southwestern Utah, Arizona, and southwestern New Mexico.
