Summary

Description
English: White layia, or whitedaisy tidytips, (Layia glandulosa) flower stems and seedhead. The disc flowers form a deep yellow mound; the 3-14 (typically 5) ray flowers are white, broad, 3-lobed, and do look "tidy"; the seedhead here at left shows a round globe with some seeds still at the top; the stems and the opposite leaves are covered in glandular hairs. At 5,500 ft (1,700 m) between Paradise and Swall Meadows, Mono County, California, in the Eastern Sierra Nevada.
