Summary
DescriptionFestuca campestris - 28639856382.jpg
English: Rough fescue is a robust bunchgrass that produced a lot of thatch and when forming dense stands, the thatch and large bunches can eliminate other plant species. Mono-dominant stands of rough fescue are locally abundant in certain reclaimed sites along Silver Bow Creek, such as at this site in Durant Canyon. In addition to the robust bunch and persistent thatch, the lemmas with a slight awntip are characteristic of rough fescue.
