Description One Swallow-tailed Kite rising from a roosting place of hundreds of kites on the early morning thermals. Hundreds of Swallow-tailed Kites gather each summer at roosts in Florida and fly up from their roosts on morning thermals to start their daily soaring for food. This is one of many near the St. Johns River in Florida before they leave on their yearly journey to Brazil.
