Texas Poverty-grass.—A rather rigid, erect peren- nial, 3 to 6 dm. high, with narrow, involute leaves and diffuse panicles 10 to 16 cm. long. Second glume a little longer than the first (a), bristle-pointed, and slightly exceeding the flowering glume (&), which is 6 to 8 mm. long. Awn 10 to 12 mm. long, the lateral awns wanting or nearly so.—Arizona and Texas. August, September.
