• Type locality: "Port Famine" (Puerto Hambre), South part of Tierra del Fuego, Strait of Magellan, Chile
• Lectotype: C. Darwin 546 (K; CGE)
  • Designated by Porter (1986; Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 93:30).
