- Holotype: SMF 337104.
- Type locality: Etang Salé, La Réunion, rocky coast, 1 m depth, 14 December 2009, leg. H. Flodrops.
- Etymology: The species is named ‘bourbonica’ after the original name of the island of La Réunion, the type locality.
