Wilibald Swibert Joseph Gottlieb von Besser (7 July 1784 — 11 October 1842) — was an Austrian-born botanist and naturalist, who lived and worked in the territory of Western Ukraine (Halychyna). He initiated a large herbarium, which is now part of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences
